Purpose of the Position

  The Fleet & General Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repairs of Logico’s fleet and facilities. The role ensures the security and operational efficiency of assets through effective planning, budgeting, supervision, and implementation of maintenance strategies.

   

Minimum Requirements

 

• Diploma in Automotive Engineering.
• Grade 2 Trade Test or Apprentice Certificate in Diesel Mechanic.
• 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on trucks and trailers.

Summary of Responsibilities

 

• Oversee maintenance and repairs of all vehicles, equipment, and company facilities, ensuring safety, compliance, and optimal functionality.
• Assess repair needs, determine in-house vs outsourced work, review contractor bids, and manage third-party service providers.
• Contribute to fleet budgeting, monitor repair costs, approve work orders, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Manage stock levels of parts, tyres, and consumables; ensure timely ordering and proper storage.
• Conduct fleet audits, ensure adherence to safety regulations, and maintain compliance for cross-border permits and licenses.
• Schedule and assign maintenance tasks, supervise internal teams and contractors, and ensure work is completed to required standards.
• Ensure buildings, grounds, and fixtures (lights, gates, taps, etc.) are well-maintained and fully functional.
