Purpose of the Position
The Team Leader is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operational activities of the pallet storage area and sorting activities relating to GLS. This is a contractual position directly linked to the GLS contract.
Minimum Requirements
- Form 5 / Matric
- Valid Fork Lift Operator’s License
- Working knowledge of a warehouse with at least 2 years’ experience in a supply chain environment

Summary of Responsibilities
- Supervision of staff responsible for pallet receiving, sorting & issuance.
- Ensure that all site staff know and understand the SOP and Pallet Quality Standards and that they are continuously adhered to.
- Provide on the job training and make sure that all training registers are signed.
- Ensure that the condition of the workspace is maintained.
- Ensure that all Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed.
- Conduct regular team talks and Safe Works Procedures with the team.
- Ensure that all client Delivery Notes, GRNs, ERNs or any other administration documentation are handed in at end of shift.
- Ensure that equipment is properly counted, segregated, conditioned and moved to the correct areas.
- Take part in monthly stock takes and ensure that all variances are investigated.
- Ensure that all stock is checked, counted & QC’d before dispatching to a customer and that it is 100% correct with accompanying paperwork.
- Make sure that all checklists are completed daily, this includes, but not limited to: Vehicles, Forklifts, Hand Tools & First Aid boxes.
