PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Town Sales Representative is responsible for delivering and maintaining shelf health, whilst also executing marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, generate leads, and increase income from sales. This role will involve working directly with consumers and businesses to promote products and generate orders & sales.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12. Diploma in marketing, business, or a related field an added advantage.
  • 1 year of experience in merchandising or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of sales and marketing principles and practices
  • Must have a smart phone
  • Proficient in use of MS Office suite and ability to quickly adapt to other relevant programs.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales & Marketing

  • Ensure all stores/outlets within assigned area of operation have sufficient stock (on shelf and in the storeroom) of all listed products, on all suppliers assigned, selling at the correct RSP.
  • Adhere to call cycle as specified on MacMobile.
  • Execute marketing campaigns that align with the Client’s marketing goals and outlet’s sales intentions.
  • Facilitate returns from stores in line with SOP.
  • Conduct market research to identify target audiences and their needs.
  • Ensure timely and correct execution of promotional activity: in-store promotions/competitions, POS, and displays as instructed.
  • Collect and analyse data to track the success of marketing campaigns.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Liaise with relevant store personnel to negotiate additional space, displays, product location, NPDs, and product ranging.
  • Ensure that products are merchandised in the correct category.
  • Monitor inventory levels and advise of stock shortages and short-dated stock.
  • Reduce loss from damages by ensuring consistent rotation of stock using expiry dates of the products on the shelves, and in the store room.
  • Use price flashes and PI labels effectively, by making sure that PI labels and price flashes are visible and updated whenever pricing changes.
  • Conduct store sales reviews with customer.
  • Perform any other duties as may be reasonably assigned
 

General Administration

  • Generate sales orders based on customer demand/rate of sale and follow up on deliveries.
  • Maintain a neat and presentable appearance, and deliver good customer service to the customer at all times.
  • Maintain good relations with all store employees and Management, and display professional behaviour at all times.
  • Liaise with store manager on implementation of correct supplier flows in all stores and implement with the merchandisers.
  • Proactively communicate all relevant information to Sales Manager, Store Manager and Merchandising Manager.
  • Monitor and report other relevant information immediately and correctly.
  • Complete store attendance registers (Mac Mobile where applicable) every day for submission each week.
  • Participate in sales meetings as required.
  • Treat all company property and store property with diligence and care to limit loss and damages. You will be liable for the costs incurred for any loss and damages.
